Lyme Regis RNLI Lifeboat Week set to be a record breaker
Date: 28/07/2010
Author: Richard Horobin, Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer
Half way through Lifeboat Week in Lyme Regis and it looks like it could be a record breaker in the sun.
Thousands have visited the town since the week began last Saturday and today the seafront and gardens were packed for events including the RAF Falcons parachute team and the Royal Navy Black Cats helicopter display.
Members of the crew of the RNLI Lyme Regis lifeboat crew are playing a big part as usual – alongside RNLI Guild members – and today they barbecued and sold 600 hot-dogs on the harbourside.
The week continues until 1 August so there is still the grand duck race on Friday, a children’s crab fishing contest on Saturday and a classic car display on Sunday – plus much more to look forward to.
