20th International Conference, June 2007, Gothenburg

An invitation to ex-lifeboat owners
The RNLI’s Operations Director, Michael Vlasto, has received a letter from the Swedish Sea Rescue Society concerning the 20th International Lifeboat Conference which will be held in Gothenburg from 4– 8 June next year. This will coincide with the 100th anniversary celebrations of SSRS. Over the weekend preceding the conference (2–3 June) it is planned to stage an exhibition of rescue vessels. The SSRS would therefore like to invite the owners of all rescue craft, big and small, new and old, active or historic to consider bringing some of them along to this gathering. The entire event will be at the Hotel Elva Conference and Exhibition Centre located in the city of Gothenburg. The quays can provide safe berthage for rescue craft of all sizes, there will be no harbour charges for vessels visiting this event and shore power will be provided free of charge.
If you are the owner of an ex lifeboat and would be interested in going to Gothenburg please get in touch with either RNLI International or Tanya Hayball, Executive Assistant to the Operations Director, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset, BH15 1HZ.
