General Situation

The northwesterly airflow will become westerly on Sunday as a ridge of high pressure topples across Shetland from the west.





Gale Warnings in operation for Sea Area Fair Isle: Nil



Northwest 4 or 5, occasionally 3 close to Shetland coast and in west later.

Mostly rough in northwest, moderate in southeast, but slight close to east Shetland.

Isolated showers.

Mostly good.



Outlook for 12 Hours from 0600 UTC on Sunday 12 Feb until 1800 UTC on Sunday 12 Feb:

Northwest 3 or 4, occasionally 5 in east backing west or southwest 5 or 6, but occasionally 7 in west later.

Mostly moderate, but rough in northwest at first and again later.

Good occasionally moderate in northwest later.



Channel Islands

A Warning has been issued for the following regions

Rain will move southeastwards from Scotland into England early on Thursday. This will fall onto very cold surfaces, such as roads, and will freeze instantly, forming a layer of ice. The public should be prepared for extremely hazardous driving conditions, particularly on routes over high ground and where roads are untreated.
