Lifeguards

The RNLI operates over 160 lifeguard units around the coast of the UK.

We believe we can make a significant difference to safety on our beaches by providing an integrated rescue service from the beach to the open sea.

Last year RNLI lifeguards saved 107 lives and assisted 18,779 people.

Why we need an RNLI lifeguard service

Most beach goers will have an enjoyable and relaxing time. Many will be children enjoying a holiday. But every year, 7,000 of them get into serious difficulties.
