The RNLI's running costs average around £398,000 (€465,000) a day. For every £1 raised, 84p is spent on operations and 16p is spent on generating income.

Our lifeboats undergo condition based maintenance throughout the year to make sure that they remain reliable and durable no matter what conditions they may face.
Average maintenance costs:
All-weather lifeboats
£75,500-£114,200 (€88,116-€133,283) per year.
B class
£12,217 (€14,258) per year.
D class
£8,283 (€9,667) per year.

Launching costs
Every lifeboat launch costs the RNLI money in fuel and service payments. Individual crew members also lose time and working hours when they are called out.
