Help us to save lives today by joining Team RNLI in 2009's Tough Ten Challenge!
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is delighted to have been chosen as the official charity for the 2009 Tough Ten Challenge. The 10 mile multi-terrain race goes ahead Sunday 22nd February, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset and has a 2 hour time limit! To download a copy of the route click here.
From 2001 to date in 2008 Weston-super-Mare's lifeboat has launched 344 times. They have rescued 215 people, including swimmers, leisure craft users, windsurfers, fishermen and people stranded by the rising tide. The Weston-super-Mare Crew lives within the local community and are all volunteers, giving up their time and risking their lives by responding to launches at a moments notice.
RNLI Crew Support Team
In recognition of their hard work and commitment, we are looking for runners to join our ‘RNLI Crew Support' team in the Tough Ten Challenge and raise money in support of the station. As a part of this team, you will be helping to raise a total £1,500.00 to cover the costs of training and equipping (with the basic requirements of a lifejacket, dry suit and gloves) the latest member of the Weston-super-Mare team, Simon Cresser.
All runners will receive our ‘RNLI Crew Support' pack which includes our RNLI running vest, training t-shirt, a runners water bottle, Train One Save Many goodies and an exclusive RNLI kit bag!
To qualify for one of our limited 15 RNLI Crew Support places, we are asking participants to commit to raising £100.00 in sponsorship money. To apply for your place you can download an application form by clicking here and return it to the address at the bottom of the form.
Team RNLI
We are also looking for participants who have already secured their own entry, but would like to support the RNLI through their place in the Tough Ten Challenge, by raising money in support of the Weston-super-Mare crew.

To qualify as a ‘Team RNLI' runner, you simply need to commit to raising some money, however large or small. In return we will offer you a support package which includes our RNLI running vest, training t-shirt, and noisemakers for your supporters!
