Hartlepool RNLI recieve SOS lifejacket appeal donation

Heerema Hartlepool along with their client, Centrica Resourses Limited, have donated £3000 towards Hartlepool RNLI SOS Lifejacket Appeal.

Memorial for victims of Morecambe Bay helicopter crash

Volunteer RNLI crew members from Lytham and Fleetwood today joined family and friends of the seven men aboard the helicopter which ditched into the Irish sea on the night of 27 December 2006.

The memorial sited on the promenade near Fleetwood Lifeboat Station will be a lasting tribute to the men who tragically lost their lives at Christmas 5 years ago...

Fleetwood RNLI Sent out SOS to the local people

On the RNLI SOS Day, Friday 27 January, the crew and volunteers at Fleetwood lifeboat station and shop opened the doors to local folk of Fleetwood to show them around the station and lifeboats.

A few weeks previously, the crew had put out ther own SOS asking the people of Fleetwood to help them fund the new lifejackets and appealed to them to help raise the £3,000 needed for the jackets...

Anyone over the age of 16 who has a real interest in becoming a beach lifeguard can use this opportunity to gain an RLSS UK National Beach Lifeguard Qualification, which is a pre-requisite qualification when applying to the charity for a job as a seasonal lifeguard...

Yorkshire Building Society staff made a splash to launch their 2012 charity of the year fundraising campaign for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) on SOS Day.
At the society’s headquarters in Bradford, senior managers including new chief executive Chris Pilling spent the day trapped in a lifeboat, having buckets of water thrown at them by staff, and were only let ‘ashore’ after they had phoned a string of contacts in the financial services to raise money for the charity...

Lifeboat volunteers from Sunderland RNLI Station scrambled into action for the sixth time in 2012 early this afternoon to assist the crew of a motor cruiser, after it suffered engine 1 mile off Sunderland.
