About this beach
Poppit Sands West is a large sandy beach at the mouth of the Afon Teifi within Cardigan Bay and backed by sand dunes. The river has a number of slipways and harbours meaning fishing and sailing are popular pursuits. Water users are advised not to swim in the estuary to the south due to fast currents - stay at the main beach.
