About this beach
Aberavon Beach is a three-mile (5 km) sandy beach which is popular with surfers. The northern end of the beach is used by sand yacht enthusiasts and kite surfers and is also a well known area for fishing.
Lifeguard season dates
Early season: Easter weekend 22-25 April. May day bank holiday 30 April - 2 May
Main Season: 28 May - 4 September
