Coxswain, Mark Criddle
Mark is a local man having grown up and been associated with the sea from an early age. He is a keen golfer and angler and lives close to the station. He is a family man with his wife Mel and two growing sons. Mark has held the full time post of Station Coxswain since late December 2006. He was awarded the RNLI Silver Medal for Gallantry in May 2008 following the 'Ice Price' incident in Jan 2008. His Crew were individually awarded RNLI Vellum certificates.He received also 'The Emile Robin Award' for an outstanding rescue from the Shipwrecked Mariners Society and an award from the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). The whole crew from this incident were awarded the GMTV Emergency Services award presented at the 2008 Pride of Britain Award Ceremony.
