About this beach
Polzeath is a wide, sandy bay in the mouth of the river Camel near Wadebridge. It is popular with families and surfers and is a stage for numerous beach and surf events. A wide, flat beach with some shelter from winds, it sees good quality surf and is quite often extremely crowded, particularly towards high tide when the beach is narrower.
Lifeguard season dates
Early season: 9-25 April. Weekends only until 29 April
Main season: 29 April - 25 September
Late season: October weekends plus half term week. Finish 30 October
