About this beach
Great Western is a bay type beach that is backed by high cliffs, rocky inlets and steps to various hotels. During high water Great Western is a small cove like beach but when the tide is out it joins with Towan and Tolcarne producing a large open beach. It is exposed to moderate Atlantic swells that can create surf.
