Queensferry History
1967 An inshore lifeboat station was established in July. A D class lifeboat was housed in the converted old Toll House.
1969 On 1 January the name of station was changed to Queensferry, previously South Queensferry.
1972 The D class lifeboat was withdrawn and replaced by a B class Atlantic 21 lifeboat.
1974 Framed Letters of Thanks were awarded to Crew Members R Mackay, J Smith and
G McAlpine for the rescue, in very severe conditions, of a man when his small dinghy was washed onto Swallow Craig rock on 8 December.
1989 A new boathouse was built providing a crew and training room, a changing room, store and toilet facilities.
1997 The Atlantic 21 lifeboat was withdrawn and the Atlantic 75 lifeboat Donald and Ethel Macrae was placed on service on 8 May.
1998 A boathouse extension was completed in July.
