Portree History

1991 The RNLI established an all weather lifeboat station on 9 March with a Waveney class lifeboat. The lifeboat was kept afloat at moorings in the harbour and an inflatable boarding boat was davit launched from Portree Pier.

1994 A fish processing building was converted on Portree Pier to provide crew facilities.

1996 The Trent class lifeboat, ON-1214 Stanley Watson Barker, was placed on service on 7 June.
