    About this station

    Providing search and rescue coverage from Southerness Point to Scares Rocks, Luce Bay in the Solway Firth, a lifeboat has been based at Kirkcudbright for over 140 years. Today, the station operates an inshore B class lifeboat.

      A former Olympian PATRICK WINTERTON and former British kayaking champion MICK BERWICK will attempt to make the first kayak crossing from Scotland to the Faroe Islands unsupported in June. Few have tried, no one, as yet, has succeeded.
