1965 An inshore lifeboat station was established in June with a D class lifeboat. The ILB was kept in a small Hardun house and was launched over the beach.
1982 A pre-cast boathouse was built , replacing the Hardun boathouse.
1985 The D class lifeboat was withdrawn and replaced by a C class lifeboat on 10 June.
1987 The boathouse was extended to allow the launching trolley to be housed with the lifeboat.
1995 The C class lifeboat was withdrawn and a B class Atlantic 21 lifeboat was placed on temporary station duty on 29 June.
A new boathouse and launching ramp were built. The two-storey boathouse includes housing for the lifeboat and tractor coupled in-line, a souvenir sales outlet, workshop, and improved crew facilities.
The Atlantic 21 was withdrawn and the Atlantic 75, B-720 Frederick Robertson, was placed on service on 12 December.
2005 The lifeboat station celebrated 40 years as a lifeboat station.
The lifeboat launched on 14 July to a medical emergency on board a yacht in Aberdour – its 800th lifeboat service.
