About this beach

A mile long stretch of fine golden sand backed by sand dunes. It is a rural style beach in an urban location. Due to its size the beach is very popular with those wanting to bathe, surf, kayak, play beach sports or just relax. Tynemouth Longsands is split into north and south Longsands with Longsands south holding Blue flag and Quality Coast Award.
