Kilrush History

1995 A new boathouse and launching slipway were built facing Scattery Island. It has easy access to the harbour’s deep-water approach channel. It includes housing for a B class lifeboat and launching vehicle, a workshop, souvenir sales outlet, fuel store and crew facilities.

1996 An Atlantic 21 B class lifeboat was placed on temporary station duty on 10 April.

A new Atlantic 75 lifeboat, B-729 Rose West, was placed on service on 9 October. This was provided from a bequest of Miss Rosemary Dora Bodenham West.
