    About this station

South Broads was the first inland lifeboat station to be established by the RNLI and started operations in 2001. It was unique in using the XP class as a stand-alone lifeboat when it is normally used as a tender for the larger all-weather lifeboats. In 2011, after a review of safety cover on The Broads, the RNLI decided to close the station and relocate its assets.
