About the Crew
More than 4,800 lifeboat crew members around the UK and RoI drop everything when their pagers go off, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Calshots volunteer crew have a wide variety of Occupations from Paramedics, Refinery Designers to accountants and teachers. As Calshot is a very busy Station we need a commited and well trained crew.

Lifeboat Operations Manager - Bryan Laughlin
Bryan is a retired local Police officer who was one of the original crew when the lifeboat station was first started. He has seen many changes to the station at Calshot and remembers the first lifeboat and the crew room on the end of the old jetty that was an old guard hut that was extended by the crew.
Coxswain - Duncan Christie
Duncan is the Stations coxswain and works for ABP aboard the Harbour Masters launch. Prior to this he used to be a marine engineer and worked at Berthons building Severn Class Lifeboats.
2nd Coxswain / Station Mechanic - Mike Lawrence
Mike is the Full time Mechanic at Calshot and ensures that the boats are always ready for service. Prior to working for the RNLI he used to work for MDL specialising on water based activities and has been the principle of 2 RYA Sea Schools and joined the crew in September 1991.
