Matched Giving

Matched giving is a great way for businesses to share and encourage their employees’ support for the RNLI. As well as helping to save more lives at sea, it can boost staff morale, improve community links and generate positive public relations.
With matched giving, businesses can match employees’ donations pound for pound, or agree to donate a percentage of the amount raised. That’s whether employees are payroll giving to the RNLI, making one-off donations or raising funds through events or other fundraising activities.
Businesses have the flexibility to put a cap on how much is matched per employee or even double or triple contributions. And, as with payroll giving, the funds that your business donates won’t be taxed. There’s even the opportunity to receive a Gold Quality Mark Certificate in the annual Payroll Giving Awards.
There’s another way that businesses can match their employees’ support – by allowing staff to volunteer during company time or matching the time they have given with a monetary donation.
