Vital training
Only 1 in 10 lifeboat crew now join with a professional maritime occupation, making this training vital.

A new crew member at an inshore lifeboat can expect to:
- attend training at the lifeboat station every two weeks.
- visit The Lifeboat College for a residential course.
- use an RNLI mobile training unit at their station every 18-24 months for training on first aid, radio or seamanship.
- as a Helm in charge of the lifeboat, they will attend an advanced lifeboat course at The Lifeboat College, learning about search and rescue and crew safety.
