RNLI main site
Because the RNLI is a charity it relies on people to raise money to help it to run. Did you know that in 2009 it cost around £147,000,000 to run the RNLI. Out of every pound raised 84p goes to help save lives at sea and 16p for fundraising. All the money raised goes to six separate areas:
• Rescue
• Prevention
• Operational maintenance
• Innovation and international
• Governance
• Cost of generating voluntary income
So even the smallest amount donated can help to make a difference and save a life.
