Blue Peter is the longest running children’s television programme in the world and has been supporting the RNLI since 1958. During this time, Blue Peter has held four fundraising appeals for the RNLI which has funded 28 lifeboats at stations around the UK.

To date, these lifeboats have launched more than 4,600 times and RNLI volunteer crews have saved over 1,030 lives.

In May 2007, Blue Peter received an RNLI Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent.
